SUMMARY:Brewski 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Brewski 2027 usually falls on the second Saturday of January\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nBrewski is an afternoon of beer sampling at the Taos Ski Valley Resort Center\, pouring beers from around the region. It runs rain or shine\, it is 21+ with IDs checked at the door\, and tickets are non-refundable. In 2026\, wristband holders also got a discount at Rhoda’s\, the resort restaurant\, that same day.

SUMMARY:WinterBrew 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. WinterBrew 2027 usually falls on a Friday evening in late January\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nWinterBrew is the New Mexico Brewers Guild’s dark beer festival\, held indoors at the Santa Fe Farmers Market Pavilion at the Railyard on a Friday evening in late January. Only Guild-member breweries pour\, so everything in the glass is made in New Mexico. \n\n\n\nThe beer list is the whole point. Breweries bring their biggest winter beers\, barrel-aged stouts and barleywines\, and many of the pours are festival-only releases. The 2026 edition drew 18 breweries and included Rowley Farmhouse Ales’ Ned Ryerson Barrel-Aged Barleywine\, Bow & Arrow’s Midnight with a Chance of Coyotes\, Rio Bravo’s Barrel-Aged Dunk-a-Chito and Tumbleroot’s Molé Stout. Food comes from the participating breweries themselves rather than trucks\, which in past years has meant pizza by the slice from Bosque and Frito pies from Rowley. The event is 21+ and a physical ID is required. \n\n\n\nWinterBrew’s first edition was around 2013; the 2023 festival was billed as the 11th annual. The Railyard pavilion is its original home\, and after a 2022 edition moved outdoors to The Bridge at Santa Fe Brewing\, the festival returned there in 2023. It sells out essentially every year\, so buying early matters more here than almost anywhere else on the calendar.

SUMMARY:Sidetrack Cask Festival 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Sidetrack Cask Festival 2027 usually falls on a Saturday in late March\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nThe Sidetrack Cask Festival is a cask-conditioned beer festival run by Sidetrack Brewing Co. on its own covered patio at 413 2nd St SW in Albuquerque. Cask beer is served from a firkin without added carbon dioxide\, so it pours softer and a little warmer than draft\, and the format gives brewers room to try things they would not package. \n\n\n\nEach participating New Mexico brewery brings one unique cask made for the festival\, which is what keeps the lineup unrepeatable from one edition to the next. The 2026 festival poured 15 casks from 15 breweries\, among them Marble’s The Parting Glass Irish dry stout\, Steel Bender’s Red Iron red IPA with cognac chips\, Tractor’s Otra Vez Mexican lager with salt and lime\, and Thirsty Eye’s El Drac IPA built on a tea blend. A ticket comes with a bag of tokens\, one per cask plus one more for a full pint of your favorite of the day. It is a Saturday afternoon event\, noon to 4pm\, with a food truck on site. The patio is covered and the taproom is air conditioned\, which is worth knowing on a warm spring day. \n\n\n\nSidetrack launched the event in 2022 under the name Alley Cask Festival and has run it since\, with the date drifting between late March and mid-April. Going into 2026 it had sold out every prior year.

SUMMARY:Fête de la Funk 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Fête de la Funk 2027 usually falls on a Saturday in mid-April\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nFête de la Funk is the New Mexico Brewers Guild’s sour and funky beer festival\, launched in 2024 as the Guild’s first event built around the style. It is a noon to 4pm Saturday affair\, and a ticket includes a sample of every beer\, one full pour\, and a commemorative glass. \n\n\n\nThe pour list leans well outside the mainstream: sours\, saisons\, goses\, Berliner Weisse\, grisette\, farmhouse ales\, and fruited and barrel-aged beers. The 2026 edition billed 15 breweries and included Bathtub Row’s Nuevo Sake 2.0 brewed with rice\, jasmine tea\, genmaicha and lemongrass\, Ex Novo’s barrel-aged spontaneous Oh Noir!\, Flock of Moons’ Coven of the Pink Moon raspberry Berliner Weisse\, and Rowley’s foeder-fermented apple gose Mountain of Light. A food truck and a funk-heavy vinyl DJ set round it out\, because the pun in the name gets carried all the way through. \n\n\n\nThe venue has changed every year so far: Rowley Farmhouse Ales in Santa Fe in 2024\, Flock of Moons Brewing in Albuquerque in 2025\, and Keeping Together on Rufina Street in Santa Fe in 2026. Check the listing before you drive.

SUMMARY:Cloudcroft Beerfest 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Cloudcroft Beerfest 2027 usually falls on the second weekend of June\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nCloudcroft Beerfest is a mid-June weekend festival at Zenith Park\, put on by the Cloudcroft Chamber of Commerce. Cloudcroft sits at about 8\,600 feet in the Sacramento Mountains\, which makes this a cool\, forested mountain-town festival in the middle of a southern New Mexico summer. \n\n\n\nThe beer comes from New Mexico breweries\, and admission has included a commemorative glass plus tasting tickets. The 2026 edition was listed with two stages of regional and local talent\, and listings have described a large vendor market alongside the beer. Both days have run noon to 6pm.

SUMMARY:Brewdoso 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Brewdoso 2027 usually falls on the third Saturday of June\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nBrewdoso is a New Mexico craft beer\, wine\, spirits and live music festival at Wingfield Park in Midtown Ruidoso\, run by the Ruidoso Midtown Association. It is a genuine fundraiser rather than a brewery promotion: proceeds go to the Association and are used to support small businesses and economic vitality in Midtown. \n\n\n\nEverything poured comes from New Mexico. The 2026 edition\, billed as the seventh annual\, brought nine breweries (Beer Creek\, Boxing Bear\, Downshift\, Icebox\, Little Toad Creek\, Lost Hiker\, Nurvis Purvis\, Steel Bender and Tractor) plus Sheehan Winery\, Noisy Water Winery and As Above So Below Distillery. Music runs across country\, rock\, Latin and funk\, with food trucks and merchants on site\, and the non-beer attractions have included axe throwing\, rock climbing and a mechanical bull. A ticket includes five drink samples\, with full pours sold separately. Admission is free for under-21s and designated drivers\, so this is a festival you can bring the family to. \n\n\n\nRecent editions have been through a lot. COVID\, the 2024 wildfires and 2025 flooding all disrupted the festival\, and the 2025 edition was pushed into August and monsoon season\, drawing about 300 people. For 2026 the organizers moved it back to its earlier slot near Father’s Day weekend and set their sights on 800 to 1\,000 attendees. Wingfield Park itself sits at roughly 7\,000 feet and is ringed with pines\, which makes it considerably cooler than the lowlands in June.

SUMMARY:NM IPA Challenge 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. NM IPA Challenge 2027 usually falls on the end of July or first days of August\, after public rounds on the two Saturdays before\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nThe New Mexico IPA Challenge is the state’s oldest and best-known beer competition\, run by the New Mexico Brewers Guild\, and the public gets to decide it. It began in 2002 after a gathering of brewery people asked who made the best IPA in New Mexico and someone suggested settling it with a competition. Brady McKeown of Il Vicino recalls that conversation; Nico Ortiz of Turtle Mountain described the stakes as bragging rights over the best IPA in the state. The first edition ran at three venues. \n\n\n\nThe format has a story of its own. In 2002 and 2003 the winner was decided by “first keg to float\,” meaning the brewery still pouring when everyone else ran dry\, a method Ortiz called rife with conflict. Year three\, 2004\, switched to blind tasting\, and after Il Vicino won that year with a fresh batch of Wet Mountain\, a rule was added requiring all of a brewery’s kegs to come from the same batch. Today a closed preliminary round judged by brewery staff narrows a field of 40 or so entries down to 16 finalists\, 16 being the state-law cap on beers poured at one event. The public rounds then travel to different cities\, attendees vote\, and totals accumulate across rounds. Beers are poured by number on a tray and the names are revealed only when the final totals are announced. The 2026 run went three weeks\, from Second Street Rufina in Santa Fe to Icebox in Las Cruces to the final at Boxing Bear Firestone in Albuquerque. \n\n\n\nRecent champions show how tight the field has become. Boxing Bear’s Juice Boxer won in 2025 by a single vote over Downshift\, then repeated in 2026 for the brewery’s sixth trophy. Gravity Bound took the 2024 title with Monic Hazy IPA\, its second in three years\, after its 2022 Quick Take became the competition’s first hazy IPA champion in 21 years. Bosque won in 2023. Rio Bravo’s 2020 win remains the closest margin on record\, 22 votes to 21 and 20. Full standings each year run 16 deep\, and the gap between first and fifth is often a handful of votes.

SUMMARY:LagerHosen 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. LagerHosen 2027 usually falls on the last Saturday of August\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nLagerHosen is Ex Novo Brewing’s lager festival\, and it is the best-documented brewery event in the state. The first New Mexico edition ran at Ex Novo’s Corrales location in 2022\, bringing 25 breweries together to celebrate the style\, and tickets sold out shortly after going on sale. \n\n\n\nThe 2026 edition moved to Ex Novo Downtown\, with the patio and main dining hall open\, and the reason is a quirk of New Mexico liquor law worth knowing: the downtown location holds a full liquor license\, so out-of-state beer can be poured there\, which the Corrales site’s small-brewer license did not allow. That is why the 2026 lineup was roughly half from outside New Mexico. Twenty-one breweries each poured one lager\, and a ticket came with eight tokens for four-ounce pours. Alongside Bow & Arrow’s Denim Tux blue corn pilsner\, Boxing Bear’s Golden Gloves Helles\, Gravity Bound’s Night Hike Czech dark lager and Keeping Together’s Splendor Italian pilsner came Breakside’s festbier from Portland\, Great Notion’s Czech pilsner\, Meanwhile’s Texas lager from Austin\, North Park’s Vienna lager from San Diego\, Our Mutual Friend’s Colorado pilsner\, Pinthouse’s rice lager and Uinta’s 801 Pilsner from Salt Lake City. \n\n\n\nThe day runs from early afternoon into the evening with live bands on the outdoor stage\, local vendors\, LagerHosen merch\, German-style food specials\, a stein-holding contest\, and an open invitation to show up in lederhosen\, a dirndl or a soccer jersey. Several of the visiting breweries have sold cans to go. Note that the date has shifted considerably over the years\, from May in 2022 to late August in 2026.

SUMMARY:La Cumbre Oktoberfest 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. La Cumbre Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on the third weekend of September\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nLa Cumbre Brewing’s Oktoberfest runs Friday and Saturday on the third weekend of September at the brewery on Girard Blvd NE\, with the Westside taproom off Coors joining in some years. Entry is free. \n\n\n\nThe signature tradition is the most authentically German thing on the calendar: the Wiesn Festbier release paired with Fässer tappings\, Fässer being traditional wooden casks. In 2026 the brewery tapped a fass at 3pm Friday and the taproom followed at 5pm\, with more tappings on Saturday\, and the Wiesn Festbier went out in cans and on draft. La Cumbre’s Oktoberfest märzen comes in at 5.9% ABV and 32 IBU. \n\n\n\nFood has meant German-style plates from Newmexique at the brewery and pretzels at the taproom\, including a pretzel pop-up in 2025. That year also brought live music on the Saturday plus stein-holding and best-dressed contests.

The beer is the draw: the 2026 edition had eight German-style beers on tap at once\, the deepest German tap list of any single-taproom event in the state\, and German-inspired beers have anchored the lineup every year. \n\n\n\nThe contests are distinctive too\, with stein-holding joined by Hammerschlagen\, the nail-driving game\, in 2025 and feats of strength in 2026. Live music plays into the evening\, and German food specials have come from local vendors\, including Crusty Boca in 2025. The event has run long\, from afternoon until close.

SUMMARY:Taos Ski Valley Oktoberfest 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Taos Ski Valley Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on the last weekend of September\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nTaos Ski Valley’s Oktoberfest takes over the resort’s upper and lower plazas on the last weekend of September\, a full Saturday plus a shorter Sunday. It is the best-publicized event on the state’s beer calendar\, with tickets going on sale the previous spring and early-bird pricing closing at the end of May. \n\n\n\nIt is also the only event on the calendar with a formal opening ritual: a ceremonial keg tapping at 10:30 on Saturday morning\, after which the beer tents around the plazas open. The contest slate is a proper Bavarian one\, with stein-holding\, pretzel-eating\, a costume contest and the crowning of Mr. and Mrs. Oktoberfest. Multiple beer tents\, live music\, food tents and a kids’ activity tent make it a family event rather than a 21+ one\, and admission tiers have included a commemorative stein plus drink tokens. \n\n\n\nThe German inflection is not an affectation. Taos Ski Valley was founded by Ernie and Rhoda Blake in the 1950s\, and the festival leans on the resort’s European roots.

SUMMARY:Ruidoso Oktoberfest 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Ruidoso Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on the last Saturday of September\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nRuidoso Oktoberfest is Downshift Brewing’s fall festival at its Riverside location on Sudderth Dr\, running a late-September Saturday afternoon into the evening. It is ticketed\, and a VIP area is part of the format. \n\n\n\nFor a taproom event\, this is the most thoroughly Oktoberfest of the lot. The contest slate has held every documented year: best-dressed\, chicken dance and stein-hoisting\, with a King and Queen of Oktoberfest added in 2026. The music is a genuine returning local lineup rather than generic live music\, with Doso Dirtbags\, Spivey and Fungi Mungle playing in both 2024 and 2025\, alongside Red Light Cameras in 2024 and the polka act Die Polka Schlingels in 2025. German-style beers and food run throughout. \n\n\n\nOne practical note: third-party event aggregators have published wrong dates for this one. Check with Downshift or Discover Ruidoso.

SUMMARY:Albuquerque Oktoberfest 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Albuquerque Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on the first Saturday of October\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nDespite the city-wide name\, Albuquerque Oktoberfest is Rio Bravo Brewing’s own event at 1912 2nd St NW\, not a municipal festival. It runs on the first Saturday of October\, free to enter\, with hours that have stretched from late morning or noon well into the evening depending on the year. \n\n\n\nThe day doubles as Rio Bravo’s anniversary party\, marked as the brewery’s 8th in 2023 and 9th in 2024. Expect live music\, German food and games\, with a stein-holding contest in the mix. Rio Bravo has run the event in some form since at least 2020\, when it closed out that year’s Oktoberfest season with a feast. \n\n\n\nThe timing is part of the appeal: it lands during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta\, and brewery guides to the Fiesta weekend treat it as part of the itinerary.

DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Cloudcroft Brewing Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on the first Saturday of October\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nCloudcroft Brewing’s Oktoberfest is held at the brewery on Burro Ave in Cloudcroft\, up at 8\,600 feet in the pines\, in late September or early October. Entry was free in 2026. \n\n\n\nThe traditions are consistent even as the format changes: bratwurst plates\, stein-holding\, and a costume or best-dressed contest with prizes. The scale moves around\, which is worth checking before you go. The 2024 edition ran three days\, Friday through Sunday\, with music from Doso Dirtbags\, Flat Black and the Borderless Brass Band\, and commemorative steins and T-shirts for sale. The 2025 and 2026 editions were single Saturdays with live music and special bratwursts.

DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Oktubafest 2027 usually falls on the first weekend of October\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nOktubafest is Second Street Brewery’s Oktoberfest in Santa Fe\, and the name is not a pun for its own sake: the festival is built around a performance by the UNM Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. It is the most distinctive programming of any beer event in the state. \n\n\n\nThe event is anchored at Second Street Rufina on Rufina St\, with the Railyard taproom involved in some years\, and entry is free every year. The tuba set has moved around the schedule\, running afternoons across both days in 2024 and a Saturday evening slot in 2025 and 2026\, with additional live music on the Sunday in 2026. The beer is Second Street’s own award-winning Oktoberfest Märzen\, and the kitchen has gone full German for it\, with bratwurst\, green chile sausage\, schnitzel\, German potato salad\, pretzels and sauerkraut on the 2024 menu. Timing has landed on the first weekend of October in 2024 and 2026 and mid-October in 2025. \n\n\n\nOne note to avoid confusion: there is a separate OkTUBerfest in Los Alamos. Entry has been free in both documented years. \n\n\n\nIts signature is the barrel-rolling race\, which no other beer event in New Mexico runs\, paired with a stein-holding contest. Live music\, food vendors\, an artisan market and a kid-friendly area round out the grounds\, and costumes are encouraged. The 2025 lineup put four northern New Mexico breweries on site: Nuckolls\, Blü Dragonfly\, Downshift and Comanche Creek.

DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Canteen Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on the first Sunday of October\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nCanteen Brewhouse holds its Oktoberfest on a Sunday afternoon at 2381 Aztec Rd NE in Albuquerque\, 2 to 7pm\, free to enter\, in the same slot every documented year. It is consistently the last Albuquerque Oktoberfest of the early-October weekend\, which makes it a good place to land after a busy Saturday. \n\n\n\nThe signature tradition is the Wiener Dog Dash\, a dachshund race that in recent years has run on the Saturday before the Sunday festival. Costumed dachshunds from across the Albuquerque metro turn out to settle which is fastest. In 2024 the races were held during the event itself on the Sunday afternoon; in 2025 and 2026 they moved to Saturday afternoon\, with an entry fee for the dogs. \n\n\n\nA stein-holding contest runs every year\, along with food and drink specials and live music into the evening. SUMMARY:Red River Oktoberfest 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Red River Oktoberfest 2027 usually falls on Columbus Day weekend\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nRed River Oktoberfest is the biggest Oktoberfest in New Mexico and the longest event on the state’s beer calendar\, running Friday morning through Sunday afternoon at Brandenburg Park over Columbus Day weekend. The Red River Chamber of Commerce runs it\, and the first edition was around 2006; the 2025 festival marked the 20th anniversary. \n\n\n\nThe contest slate is unusually elaborate and holds steady from year to year: the Bavarian Binge bratwurst-eating competition\, a Strongman and Strongwoman competition first held in 2024\, Ms. and Mr. Oktoberfest\, and a pet costume contest known as Leashes & Lederhosen and renamed Yip & Yodel in 2026. Daily trivia\, scavenger hunts and kids’ arts and crafts fill the gaps\, and it is billed as family-friendly rather than 21+. The 2024 lineup put Red River\, Little Toad Creek\, Palmer/Left Turn\, Boxing Bear\, Santa Fe Brewing and Downshift on the pour list\, with music from the Lederhosen Junkies and an expansive vendor market. \n\n\n\nWhat people come back for is the setting. The Dark Side Brew Crew’s account describes a sleepy Alps-esque village on the Enchanted Circle transformed for a weekend\, autumn aspens\, deer wandering through town\, and an oom-pah band’s deep brass carrying over bratwurst and clinking glasses. The 2018 edition was a big expansion\, with Comanche Creek\, Enchanted Circle and Santa Fe Brewing joined by The 377\, Bombs Away\, Lost Hiker\, Palmer/Left Turn\, Rio Bravo\, Starr Brothers\, Red River Brewing and Colfax Ale Cellar\, which took Best of the Fest that year. One piece of practical advice shows up in every write-up: reserve lodging early. Red River is a small town and the festival fills it.

SUMMARY:Enchanted Brewing Challenge 2027 (expected)
DESCRIPTION:Expected date\, not yet announced. Enchanted Brewing Challenge 2027 usually falls on the third weekend of October\, with entries due the week before\, so that is where we have penciled it in. We will update this listing once the organizer confirms. Check back\, or see last year’s edition. \n\n\n\nThe Enchanted Brewing Challenge is a homebrew competition\, not a festival. It is run by the Dukes of Ale\, the oldest homebrew club in New Mexico\, formed in January 1989 and first meeting that April. The club’s stated mission begins with maintaining quality in the production of homebrewed beer\, alongside beer education\, serving as a forum for brewers and encouraging responsible use. \n\n\n\nThe competition is BJCP-sanctioned and judged against the BJCP Style Guidelines\, and it is open to amateur homebrewers anywhere in the United States rather than just New Mexico. Winners receive medals; where additional prizes are offered\, a winner has to attend the awards ceremony or send a representative to collect one. The Dukes maintain competition archives and have published results pages\, including 2019. \n\n\n\nIn 2017 the Dark Side Brew Crew called it the biggest homebrewing competition in Albuquerque\, with a cap of up to 300 entries\, and that year carried a special Belgian session beer theme covering Wit\, Belgian Pale Ale and Saison. The calendar has since moved from spring to fall\, with registration closing in October and judging held mid-month. One thing worth clearing up: despite the name\, the competition has no connection to Enchanted Circle Brewing in Angel Fire.
